Overview

The O’Neill Women’s 3/2mm Bahia Backzip is a comfortable, easy-wearing steamer for the warmer months. It’s built from O’Neill’s stretchy UltraFlex DS neoprene and lined with recycled UltraFiber Firewall, a lining designed to trap heat and repel water. It’s lightweight and quick-drying, so you get the warmth without the suit feeling stiff.

The classic back-zip entry makes it easy to get on and off, especially if you’re less mobile or flexible. An adjustable Glideskin collar lets you fine-tune the seal at the neck, and the seams are glued, blind-stitched, sealed and taped from knee to collar to cut down on flushing. A 3/2mm suit is 3mm thick in the body and 2mm in the shoulders and arms, so it’s easier to paddle in. Around Kaikōura it’s a late-spring-to-early-autumn suit: It’s a good fit for long summer sessions at Mangamaunu or a mellow paddle around the Peninsula.
